America was founded by racists, wrote racism into its founding documents, made sure that the criminalization of blackness was carried through all reappraisals of those laws (including such creatively fucked-up tactics as "mistakenly" leaving out important anti-racist verbiage when transcribing from law to judicial handbooks), assassinated multiple leaders (presidents, religious, etc.) who planned to strike racist policy from the public mandate, and waged a multi-generational campaign against the accrual of black wealth by means that are indistinguishable from a West Asian religious insurrection. Americans have spent 150 years attempting to build an ever-more-complex case for a conclusion of the biological inferiority of the black man, beginning with head shape and "progressing" to the currently en vogue charlatanism of behavioral genetics. Liberals play along because they're terrified of what would happen if someone were to take a John Henry-sized sledgehammer to the conservative delusion of "reality." In the face of a global history of the failure of acrimoniously balkanized monoracial societies, and the success of multi-racial, multicultural that find prosperity in diverse production and trade, America hobbles towards its doom, blinders up.

Because if someone has changed the physical systems that the processes run on, there's a chance that the "technical" function of those systems were also changed to fit the newer hardware/software (or, that is the cover for other reasons).
