Will I ever be able to afford a house or is it over? Optimistically I think I might be able to get an $80k to $90k CAD starting salary I get lucky and actually manage to get a new grad job in this market.

Can't even get a mortgage now unless you're top 5% income, and if you can't afford a mortgage half your paycheck goes to rent. Wages are half that of the US while everything else is more expensive as well. It's on the verge of being completely unlivable.
