if you didn't get into mining in 2016 or earlier, you're too late

you're better off just buying crypto with the money

and before anyone says something about running up a $20k balance and then defaulting and walking away, banks will sue you for credit card debts of as little as $5k, maybe even lower (it's been a while since I worked in the industry), so you'd need to flee the country or otherwise hide your assets from the government to avoid paying back the money.

you could also consider making a Kraken account and buying crypto on there, at which point you could send it to your Coinbase account or keep it on Kraken
I'd send it to Coinbase because the Kraken UI is f-ing terrible and I don't know how much longer they'll be in business

to be clear, prepping is basically a non-fantasy version of LARPing (Dungeons & Dragons).

Or to put it a little differently, prepping is basically the same thing as walking around in the woods with a backpack and a gun and LARPing like you're in The Walking Dead.

however anon should consider that with a $95 annual fee and 2 points (2%) per $ spent, anon needs to spend $4,750 just to break even every year. Meanwhile a no-annual-fee 2% cash-back card would earn $95 for spending the same money and it has no annual fee to worry about.

sure anon go ahead and take advantage of the sign-up bonus but you should aim to eventually put most of your spending on a Citi double cash or the Fidelity rewards card. Or the USAA card if you qualify/have it.

keep buying BTC until you have 10
then increase your 401k contribution % until you max out your company match, put it in the S&P 500
then put any additional surplus income into a brokerage account and buy safe dividend stocks
focus on reducing your expenses and advancing your career to increase your income

you're looking at the wrong field. Tech companies will hire people with no degree but solid work/programming experience. Finance -- not so much. In finance they still do things the old way.
