Short interest is the number of shares sold short as a percentage of the total number of shares; GME currently lists 153%, yes, more shares sold short than exist. Its possible but complicated.
Short interest is published uhh, something like once a month. The last time it was published was 9/15. This means that 153% number is old by almost a month. If the Short Interest report comes out and says 10%, for instance, then shorts already covered for the most part. But if it comes out and says 135% (or higher), then shorts were still around and still need to cover.

TDAmeritrade lists it under the stock ticker when selected. I don't know where garbage brokers like Robinhood list it.
