Maybe, maybe not. They could just have labeled it as that and split your shares internally. Do you understand the difference? The shares should have come from the DTCC. If they didn't, your broker is now on the hook for your shares. A cornered broker facing liquidation after having to pick up millions of shares at millions of dollars would rather just refund your money and tell you to fuck off. That's why you DRS.
