I think it was just location in this case

all the aluminum tokens in that pic were dug from the same town and were all manufactured by the same local company. So I'm guessing it's just soil pH wherever they happened to land. I didn't actually pay for six of those, I dug them. The rest were bought though. I get excited about my tokens.
