Assuming I win the lottery jackpot tonight, either Powerball or Super Lotto, what should I do to prepare before claiming the ticket? Identity theft protection and redirect any important mail to a PO box obviously. Any other ideas?

I would take the default payout plan not the lump sum.

This is exactly why I spend over $100/month on lottery tickets

Yeah, I probably spent as much money as Elliot Rodger had on lottery tickets since 2012. I just spent $50 today, mostly on the California Super Lotto, and also some fantasy 5 and Mega Millions.

Nice dubs, NEET life IS the best life if you're wealthy, or so autistic you're afraid to go outside and you get autismbux. The ideal is to have both free time and ample money, which gives you true freedom. If you are working, you don't have time to enjoy life, unless your only ambitions are doing stuff on the computer or mobile when you aren't on the clock (or milking the clock), and if you are NEET but little money, you can't do much of anything because everything costs money. What you do have is time though, and there's a lot you can learn and do if you can sleep, eat and use internet at your parent's residence.

Most wealthy people never really get to enjoy it because they got to be wealthy by being workaholics, and never learnt how to enjoy leisure time with no responsibilities or ambitions, and thus they keep working except to take some vacations top play gold or visit a developing tropical island country where they never leave their 5 star resort. Wealth is wasted on the rich, I'm sure you guys have seen many threads all over 4chan of multimillionaires complaining of how depressed they are because of "tfw no gf" or some other stupid bullshit.

So go for it OP, and perhaps even make this a regular thread: OP tries to turn 5k into 1mil. I myself wasted $5k on lottery tickets before I knew anything about investing, so people like you actually give me real hope.

On a final note, just destroy your ego completely. On the rare occasion I encounter someone from high school, and asks me what I've been up to the last 10 years, I have no problem saying "absolutely nothing, I'm a total loser and I don't give a fuck"

I feel the same, except I have higher standards of living, which is why I've chosen to invest in lottery tickets

Buy lottery tickets. At least Elliot was intelligent enough to realize that its the only way out, but he gave up on it, imagine how many more lottery tickets he could have bought instead of weapons and designer clothes.

Some important questions should I happen to win. I'm going out soon and won't be back until midnight EST so I won't be F5ing the lottery results page anxiously.

How do I go about getting a loan if I don't have much money on hand prior to claiming the prize? To pay for things like professional services (attorneys, accountants, economists, brokers, financial managers, etc), to take a long vacation, and then move into an apartment in a complex with on-site security.

And how do I even go about hiring the financial/legal professionals? I've never been wealth before so I have no idea where to look, and I don't think it would be a good idea to ask friends who work in the financial industry "hey bro, I just won the lottery, know a good financial planner and estate attorney for me?"
