- database-node: read-only, full state history, more indexes like "all txn per address" or "all addresses per chain"
- block-sealing node: sets block author, may restrict network peers
- transaction-signing: node contains wallet and provide secure way to unlock
- network-peering: reduces latency when pulling blocks or pushing transactions, similar to bootnodes,
- public-rpc: limited rpc methods available (no filters), extra logging, DOS protection
- also maybe: bridges, validators, ipfs, whisper
