>got about 20 pics together to show that the entire census was "extremely worn." I submitted the info to NGC and got my best example slabbed AU Weak Strike when it normally might have gotten a VF20 at best. Turned an entire run of low priced "worn" coins into perfectly good but weakly struck ones. I like that stuff. Autism I guess.

Hell yeah, autism at its finest! I like how you sneakily acquired for yourself the finest condition example before letting that cat outta the bag lol. I don't have any personal examples quite like yours but I'm pretty good at spotting "diamonds in the rough" that others overlook because of poor first-impression appearance or characteristics. It's always important to read deeply into what you're looking at and rely upon your own eye and judgement first and foremost, the tag or title or description should be a distant second. Sometimes the most humble things are the most special.

In unrelated news I had located and bought a copy of the 1939 Maggs Bros catalogue 672 my cheapie Babylonian tablet was sold through and tracking says it's getting delivered tomorrow! I'm in contact with an Assyriologist who does translations but he says it's an unusually complex tablet and he needs even better pictures than the ones I took this morning and thought were good. Since there are 40 pages dedicated to 100 items in the catalog I'm hoping it contains at least a partial translation/summary and more provenance info, it's one of the more exciting acquisitions I've made in some time.
