If you buy alts during a real bear market you will loose the most.

Regarding all crypto bear markets, the first one that recovers to previous $highs is every time Bitcoin.
What means that alt btc ratios will continue to bleed out when the next bull starts ( wherever this will be).

The big alt rallys only starts when the king is back on the top, remember early 2017.

BTC hit its 2013 high (1100$) again and alts started to explode ( DASH XMR ETH LTC .... ) LTC was at 4$ until March!! - ranked at #5-#4 on coinmarket cap.....

also maybe you rember the last big rally, for all newbies look at the price behavior.
The altcoin explosions started when BTC already was at 20,000$ ( LTC 100$ -> 400$ within a few Days , XRP 0,7-> 4$, XMR, .... NANO, .... and so on )

Do yourself a favor and start your research. This pattern will not change.

If this bear market continuous lets say until Q4 2018 and BTC drop to 2000$ ( just a random guess) you can be sure that as long as the price isnt back at 10K$ ++ no altcoin will move with it.

If you are long enough in the game you will figure out that its not about the USD price.
