i thought more about this question over the last few hours and i think one avenue of inquiry would be looking at the demographics it's targeting:
4chan users are mostly millennial men, disillusioned with society, relatively educated and tech-literate, a decent amount of whom are single, unemployed or otherwise disengaged from social support networks, politically libertarian-leaning, right-wing but not traditionally conservative/neocons.

what would be the purpose of forming this group of people into some kind of culturally-aligned bloc? it sort of reminds me of Fight Club. pic related has always been one of my favorite /pol/ memes and it seems to sum it up pretty well.
