Crowdfunding is going to a venture capitalist, but without a VC. You don't give a cut, but finished products.

Crowdfunding is pretty much the best system there is to get a company going. You cut the middleman and essentially sell products at slightly lower cost than planned MSRP until you hit setup and production costs.

I can see myself selling and buying through kickstarter often. Ofc it's not idiot-proof as there is no quality assurance at all.
