Microsoft, Salesforce Join Hyperledger Enterprise Blockchain Consortium

>As for Hyperledger, Microsoft offers the consortium’s Fabric platform as a blockchain option on its cloud service Azure.

>“Our journey in the blockchain ecosystem has brought us a long way, and now is the time for us to join the Hyperledger community,” Marley Gray, principal architect for blockchain engineering at Microsoft

>Salesforce, an IT giant comparable to Microsoft, made its blockchain debut recently, announcing the Salesforce Blockchain, a product for building and maintaining blockchain networks based on Hyperledger Sawtooth. Salesforce also named three clients that are testing the product, the data research company IQVIA, the rating agency S&P Global and Arizona State University.

Digital Asset Integrates With Amazon, Hyperledger Fabric And R3 Corda

>The blockchain software company formerly run by Blythe Masters, Digital Asset, is integrating its smart contract programming language Digital Asset Modeling Language (DAML) with Hyperledger Fabric, R3 Corda and Amazon’s traditional database service, AWS Aurora.

>After already adding compatibility with Hyperledger Sawtooth in April, Digital Asset’s announcement at the Synchronize Europe conference in London provides even more flexibility to developers of financial services applications.

“We’re building an application that is effectively going to manage the entire life cycle of every stock in Australia,” Rooz says. “We’re effectively replacing their core infrastructure with this language, so how every stock is managed, how every participant is modeled in the Australian stock market, we built with this language.”

g-guys. Why does the official ChainLink documentation show a payment in ETH for oracle services?

https://chainlink-docs.smartcontract.com/#anatomy-of-an-assignment

Scroll down to "Payments" to see for yourself.

Slightly concerned here

I will admit this guy has a deeper understanding of the nuances of chainlink vs a centralized oracle.
I will nontheless attempt to refute his devaluation of my favorite coin!
His argument is that a decentralized oracle is pointless using a centralized data source, and SSL means that data cannot be corrupted already. This is age old FUD around biz. I've heard this a dozen times.
1. IMO the best use for chainlink has always been cross blockchain querying for smart contracts. Let's say banks adopt blockchain (decent likelihood.) They will have to send data to each other's private blockchains. Then it will really make sense for a decentralized oracle as the data flow will go
decentralized->decentralized->decentralized
instead of
decentralized -> centralized-> decentralized

This aspect of LINK is becoming more and more interesting to me as I continue to research. In the coming years, many large companies will likely run their own blockchains, ethereum or hyperledger, whatever. But they will need an oracle to cross reference each other's blockchains

This is where it really makes sense to have a decentralized oracle. Using microsoft's or IBM's would be counterintuitive, as it would be the only weak point on an otherwise decentralized workflow.

Yes LINK may not be the decentralized oracle that wins it all, but seeing as they have a POC with swift that at least gives them more credibility than their competition. I am hedging my bets with a bit of mobius as well.

Anyone else have thoughts on the implications of cross blockchain communication?

Institutional money is sleeping from all the tryptophan they've gorged on the past few days. Come next week, they'll be back to filling their bags.

LINK holders being a bunch of dumb pajeets don't realize this and have been scared into selling their LINK cheap while volume is down over the holidays. Sucks to be them. The whole order book will get burned through once the levy breaks in the new year.

What happens to LINK if Ethereum goes tits up? Does anyone have any idea? I have some serious concerns about Ethereum in the longterm but I love the idea of LINK. So considering LINK is just an ERC20 token, how could it ever overcome an event like Ethereum crashing hard to the point where no one used it anymore? LINK should be able to stand on it's own.

Chain is gonna moon on Halloween. Im surprise none of you could spot this. Of course the partnerships and tech are out of this world: 32 million went into development. Relating it back to halloween, ever hear the phrase: Trick or Treat? Literally, all the FUD is the trick, and the sweet gains coming the 31st is the tweet.

Happy Halloween

You people are the most irrational idealistic fuckwits. That's why you'll never ever make it in life, because of your emotions. Nothing so easy as making money from the most gullible and predictable nubs, it's like taking candy from a baby. One day you will develop thick skin and learn tenacity, stick to the facts and you might get somewhere. Till then, may you watch in pain as the success train leaves you behind.
