Unlike doges which have a massive problem with 'mutts' being mixed with violent breeds like dobermans (i was looking at a 'shelter retriever puppy' that was clearly a fucking mutt mixed with a doberman) and pitbulls, there aren't really any cat breeds that are known for being violent assholes that will ruin your day. So there's not a specific need to find purebred cats, though you can if you want. Cats will usually develop different personalities, though most have a similar baseline.
