I suppose most here lost 6 figures this year.

I know 20 year olds who did the ETH followed by the NEO ICO.
€2,000 => €80,000,000
They are still in the 15 mill range, tho.

I was at 300k but desu I didn't know what to do with it in January anyhow so whatever. Now I saw that money is a meme. And I'm back at 100k as soon as there's a bullrun.

Reality:
* Merkle trees and blockchain data structures are from the 70's, proof of work and the smart contract concept is from the 90's.
* All consensus algorithms being tried now are or rely on idea from the 70's to the 90's.
* In 2008, Nakamoto posted the clever idea of proof of work for consensus. It doesn't scala and thus can never work, but triggered an enthusiasm for work on consensus protocols that wouldn't be worked on if Bitcoin didn't emerge. Tor and torrents are as close to working tech that somewhat mirror the ingrediences of distributed consensus as it gets at this stage
* Distributed consensus that scales was and is a hard problem and it's unlikely that any of the 100 protocol projects with their 10mill++ market cap has an idea good enough to solve it.
* Bitcoin quickstarted tech interest in this field by accident, basically. >>10998814 Bitcoin is no "way out", because Bitcoin (or Ethereum, for that matter) doesn't work and never did. The next years will see those 70's ideas being tried, but it's not actually anything technically revolutionary, except people didn't bother trying before.

That's smart but I don't want to spend the time. Unironically: It's just money. I make 3k a month after taxes waging and I don't know what to do with money anyway.

I'm at 2.5x still, as my main stack is NEO. I'm rather confident that it'll catch up again, given that ETH, NEO and EOS are about the only communities with substantial amount of people actually working on already functioning smart contracts. Projects like Cardano are interesting (I love Haskell, or rather dependently typed variants), but in actuality have nothing but the name.

This how you'll become a șoy dev, not trying to shit on you OP but Python and especially JavaScript is cancer.
It's perhaps simple as an introduction to programming but JavaScript has serious flaws as a language, I would heavily recommend that you rather learn a language that transcompiles into JavaScript like coffeescript, typescript or languages like that.
Python is a good 'scripting' language and can be powerful, but it has a cancerous community. That shouldn't stop you from learning it, and it's definitely possible to write a good trading bot but consider yourself warned. It's community is infected with libtards that want inclusion, diversity and gender fluidity.
Lastly,if you want to learn how computers work you won't find that out when learning those two languages.

Microsoft buying GitHub for 7.5B. What's the sentiment?

Will they lead the company to one with profit?
Will they shamelessly peak into competitors private code repos for advantage?

Will they tweak the interfaces ti make VS code and other services stonger?
Will people keep on fleeing to competitors like GitLab?
What will the open source hardliners do?
