when will cryptocurrency die and what will replace it?

Hey everyone, just starting to get in the coin game this week after putting it off for months and months (dumb move).

Just downloaded Coinbase the other day and I’m waiting for my funds to be deposited. My question is- is it worth diversifying my investments within Coinbase (between BTC, ETH, and LTC)? I know they’ve all surged this year. I’ve also heard BTC may split. In this case, how would that affect price and should it be avoided? Are any of them due for another surge? Etc. I’m not sure if I should liken this to the stock market.

My plan was to invest heavily in these coins, make gains, then and choose quick investments in smaller coins. I’m waiting on 1k each to come through but would like to put more in, pointing to my above question. I see LTC is the cheapest, does that mean it will surge similar to the others?

I found out about bitcoin when it was about 40 cents and thought to myself, nah, it'll never take off, fucking cryptocurrency what a load of bollocks

I looked back six months later and it was 37 dollars. I thought to myself, eh, it'll never get higher, it'll crash from there.

Then ten months ago I found ETH, thought it looked quite nice but didn't want to take the risk.

So, now, after waking up every day kicking myself about massive missed oppertunities I've dumped all my savings into various alt coins. I've put in the following

I have no idea what I'm doing but I figure the last two I seriously looked at made it, why not actually do it this time?
