We had a school in the small village which was at an unusually high standard, several cows, a large plot of land where we grew potatoes, a lot of chickens, and wild berries

My uncle's also built a Sauna and a well there.
There was a lake nearby to fish and a forest to hunt and pick mushrooms

It's all gone now. Everyone moved to the city and my grandparents died.
Nobody took care of the farms and all the children in the area didn't care about homesteading

I sometimes drive back and sleep on the grass in our orchard and eat wild berries while making a campfire.

I hate modernity. I don't know why everyone chose to become enslaved for money when they pretty much had everything they needed already.
I guess Goyslop and comforts of sloth are more appealing to the average normie than feeling the dirt in your fingernails as you scrounge around for potatoes
