wow it's almost as if the modern working world is fake and gay as hell. that said, medicine is far worse than any of those other careers. you can easily walk away from a career in engineering, comp sci, or trades, unless you were completely retarded. you can't walk away from medicine because (unless you have rich parents who paid for medical school, which is fairly common) you're likely $300-500k in debt by the time you finish medical school.

my cost of attendance was something like $65k a year and i was lucky enough to get some small scholarships -- most aren't that lucky. i looked it up just now and the school i dropped out of now projects $90k a year cost of attendance. that's $360k for 4 years of school and grad plus loans are 7.54% interest. the interest only payment is $2260 a month and you're accruing interest all throughout your 3-7 year residency program.
