I make about 60k a year doing cable mainline maintenance. Basically all you do is beat off in your truck half the day waiting for some stupid fuck to plow into a pole or pedestal and then go splice it back together. The other is just adjusting levels at amps and freezing your fucking ass off. In MN where I work it was -30 on Superbowl weekend. And on Superbowl weekend I was on call. Which means when all the power packs exploded on the amps outside or cable literally sucked out and dropped the signal out I was freezing my ass off in a bucket 30 feet in the air. Not worth. Don't fucking ever go into cable maintenance or for sure cable installation. I did that shit for 5 years. People are absolutely retarded and complain about internet speed when their computer won't even turn on. Legit, not even larping. Was one of my calls. A laptop that couldn't even get past the welcome screen of windows. Her expectant look on her face made me want to off myself.
