Weak commiefornians can't handle a season other than summer, and the third worlders that make up a majority of that state's "New Americans" all come from tropical or desert shitholes, so the idea of a fall chill or winter rain (to say nothing of snow and icy roads) scares their lemming brains and makes them react with visceral horror. It's always the southern 'murricans that react with shock and wonder upon meeting a Canadian, asking "How could you ever live THERE!?" even though I'm in a mild coastal area and it still gets as hot as Southern California in the summers sometimes. To them, anywhere it might conceivably get cold is a blasted hellscape of frostbite and desolation.
