to call it ai in the first place is a massive meme, it's just an algo slapping together images from a library of other people's creations; i have seen what it can do and it's really not impressive, and i have a background to know that the majority of big companies that rely on art have no interest in ai because it removes a massive aspect of free marketing that they get with human made art, and the cost of hiring artists is nothing for a company because most companies will let the arists keep the rights and make money from selling prints and shit, which again just serves as free marketing again

what ai is now, including the chat side of things, is no different to existing creations we had over a decade ago; i even remember being in irc and having friends that made similar algos that would answer you and interact and learn from what was said in the irc

but this sort of thing really impresses brainlets that don't have any awareness of these industries, it's blown way out of proportion due to the current internet's reactionary state; you'll notice most professional artists either don't talk about ai at all, or specifically talk about the legality of it, they don't actually care that it exists because they know there's nothing to be concerned of outside of some meme company using their creations without approval, it's purely a copyright argument and nothing more

reminder: ai doesn't "draw", it's just grabbing a ton of images and combining them, that's why it has such massive flaws because it doesn't know the shapes that go into creating something, it just knows the name (tag) of something; you can request an arm and it'll go "cool here's 500 images of an arm" but it isn't going to be stylised properly or anatomically correct because it doesn't know anatomy or style
