that's why I gave you the core numbers that exclude fuel+food inflation. that changes less month to month but it shows how persistent sticky inflation is becoming. you can see that for most months in 2023, there has been a positive increase in core inflation Month over Month. So in fact inflation is still accelerating. We're barely getting any reaction from "tapping the breaks".

once inflation becomes intrenched it just becomes a tumor that can comeback if you don't chemo it to death. Thus, the central banks have no choice but to send economies into a recession or just admit they want to inflate their sovereign debt away and let inflation rip.
