Yeah I've wondered about this too. Think about it. Do you go into threads about altcoins you don't hold and talk about how you predict the price to move? Who the fuck has the time, interest or patience for that shit? The talking points, the dedication to it, it all seems pretty weird. I mean I guess it's possible some basement dwellers are just that pathetic/emotional over all this. But the fud just seems psychologically unlikely, and yet there's a shit-ton of it.

I think a lot of noobs get taken away by how cheap each individual coin is, easy to pump, quick to dump.
