It's not about the Canadian market right now. That sector wide pump and dump happened once in 2017 and twice in 2018. Now the speculative fuel is all about gaining US foothold, both from the large Canadian companies and the state operators in the US. Nobody is fueling huge money in to Canadian weed stocks because they think Canada itself will be a big money maker. Canada is too small. Its market is not very important. US is the juicy fruit. Canopy's current run is mostly about their deal to acquire Acreage Holdings when/if US goes federally legal.
