Germanon here, are there any Americans who can share their insights on BAYER/Monsanto? Bayer lost more than 50% of its value after acquiring Monsanto, which seems to have been largey due to big courtcases against Monsanto for giving farmers cancer which Bayer is now responsible for. The stock has been recovering a lot in the last 6 months and with the added capabilities of Monsanto I don't see why it shouldn't be able to get at least back to its original price prior to the acquisition. But I don't have a good understanding of American law where individuals get sometimes awarded hundreds of millions in damages. This is a very alien concept to Europeans, when corporations fuck us over or kill us we get like 10k and a lukewarm apology at best.
So it's pretty hard to assert the risks to Bayer. It doesn't help either that Monsanto seems to be regarded as the most comically evil corporation on the planet by a large portion of the public...
