No it wouldn't have. If you bought peak to trough and averaged down you would have recovered by like 2003 or some crazy shit. If you just sat on your hands like a bunch of Boomers did... or worse sold the fucking bottom then yeah you are fucked beyond measure. There were a lot of dumbasses who sold in 2020 and 2022 then got priced the fuck out because the markets recovered shocking I know.
