if you trim out expensive (or penny) stocks, in theory that trims out the pool of picks, making true random less "true"

but with no limits on what stocks you pick, you might have a week or month where (1/n)th of your portfolio has to be BRK.A stock
meaning your overall portfolio has to be at Least n*(BRK.A's current price), which could be insanely high

being able to buy fractional shares would certainly help, but only so much (and it depends on how small of a fraction you can buy)
