i realize this isn't /adv/ but

my anxiety over the economy and the future of the country is ruining my life. i get the feeling we're at the end of some long run of prosperity and are about to slide into a future of increasing people fighting over dwindling resources, and there's an increasing lack of leadership and long-term planning to deal with issues. and the scariest thing of all to me is it seems like there's an increasing amount of people who want to see shit burn. i don't see a lot of will anywhere to doing things constructively. the media and political landscape is so loud, shrill, and devoid of deep thought or discussion. was it always like that?

i have a great job and a lot of money and rather than plan for the future i'm just drifting through life waiting for the end. why have a family or a long-term home, instead of a go-bag and enough ammunition and water to maybe live to see the other end of societal collapse.
