>is there any reason /pmg/ doesn't have a buy/sell telegram or something?

That would be awesome, when my bro cashed out (temporarily) last week he got screwed by the shop, only got 80% of spot for his Canadian .9999 and I didn't have the spare cash to buy him out at spot (ain't a Biden so I'm not gonna fuck my family). I've got lots of cool stuff I'd sell below eBay price and if anyone was in a pinch, selling at fair price to /pmg/bros looking for deals would be a win-win.

>That's partially my goal, although plates are a little harder to find decent deals on (although my failing is that I'm primarily targeting sub-spot rather than spot or premium).

Not a failing to stick to your price points fren, it is true that bigger scarcer items are harder to find priced right but they do show up, if you're planning on scrapping a while you're bound to come across suitable pieces.

I knew I wanted a pair of these amusing heavy 38g each "Only A Thimble Full" shot cups but they go for $60-80 each because of collector demand. Found one for $20 shipped BIN and another in a batch of scrap that was even cheaper. Got my nice desirable shot glasses for scrap price and could flip for great profit if I needed. Point of the story is to stick to your strategy, don't FOMO and overpay for something you want when you'll surely find it priced better later on.

Looking forward to seeing your pile, keep it growing!

Lol, I actually have a French 1849 5F, I hear you and expect lots of goodies to come out, I've already been seeing eBay lots where the normies literally collect together every scrap of silver they own, good valuable antique pieces along with broken jewelry and spoons, and some are way below spot BIN deals to start with so hoovering them up, keeping the good desirable antique stuff and refining the rest is getting rather more interesting right now. Picrel is an example of good stuff to save, they are 2 identical "only a thimble full" hefty novelty thimble shot cups obtained weeks apart for about .50/gram. Melt value is $57 but I could flip the pair for $150 easily on eBay as they are popular and classy antiques. Anyway are you a brick and mortar operation or sell on eBay like ufomechanix (a based world coin seller)?
