I am somewhat perplexed reading these responses and trying to put them in gnostic categories.
Hylics value materialism over everything else and some even with the means to change their situation still go to work and maintain the same patterns even though they don't need to after moon or lottery winnings.
Some people actively choose to keep their material situation rather than change but they keep their job as well.
If we change our material situation do we become more or less hylic?
