you may want to avoid winter up there though, average snowfall from lake superior can be +20ft of snow in one night easily

ohio and michigan went to war over the toledo strip (top of ohio including the town of toledo) back before we were states
due to a cartography error (because 1800's)
congress stepped in before true warefare started (only a couple peopple died from fighting) and in return for handing over the toledo strip to ohio, the state of michigan was admitted with extra land- da UP

also if you have michigan plates and you drive in ohio you will get pulled over and ticketed, same if you have ohio plates in michigan
