Consider for a moment how absurdly overpriced this market is, whether for stocks, bonds, crypto, etc.

Consider, too, just HOW MUCH money you would make if you were shorting these assets while collapsed to their actual value. It would be truly astronomical. All of the unbelievably inflated value would be transferred rather quickly from the assets themselves to those respective people who bet against them.

Understand (as you may already), however, that the only way these assets could fall so far in nominal value to fulfill that bet would be for the dollar to retain its purchasing power. Which we know will not happen.

Ultimately these assets WILL collapse to their real market value, just not nominally. Instead of the wealth being transferred to those shorting the inflated assets, it will be shifted into those who shorted the inflated currency - us.
