I actually wonder how that would have worked back then. Newton was a rich noble who could have asked a servant to do it, but would he have had any servants literate enough to do basic arithmetic? For that matter, wouldn't he have needed someone on the actual physical floor of the exchange? I guess he'd have needed to hire a broker full-time. Stocks back then seem simultaneously easier and harder...
