The part that annoys me is I'm
starting an MSc after the internship ends in September, though I'd be very well equipped for a dev job at that point (had to go through the graduate hireing process to get this internship- they're legit). I'll still need the msc long term becuase boomers in hr who don't understand tech want that piece of paper.

Tldr, university is a waste of time, 6 months self study is enough to be at grad level if you have any discipline at all, but you still prob need a degree just so a retarded boomer doesn't filter your job application becuase of muh level 9 or equivalent qualification

If you inherited, earned, or most probably sucked dick to gain $10 000 you are wondering yourself, what to do with the money. So instead of shitting this board every fucking day with the same fucking question, it will be answered now.

First thing you have to find is a company that is so fucking simple and so fucking steady, that not even nuclear bombs and world wars could swipe it out of the worlds surface. A company that will always exist as humans roam the world.

That company will most probably produce simple shit like soda, hamburgers, sweets and other food.

Because it is stable their growth will be stable. Which is the most important point.

As an example we will take McDonalds as such company. Their growth is stable as fuck, and will continue to rise as long as mouths eat and asses shit.

Their annual growth rate is currently ~13%. By buying their stock for $10k you can expect it to rise by 13% - 10% annualy.

Now what happens if you leave your $10k just sitting in there, without doing anything. How much many will you gain? In let's say 5 years.

Taking into account that the growth rate will fall and being on the safe side, we will lower it from 13% to 10%. In 5 years, you will have $16,105.10 without doing shit, just letting it sit there.

If you however decide to put some $1000 dollars every month which will otherwise go into your bank account as savings.

You would have earned $93,276.84 in 5 years, without risking anything, nor playing the stock market.

In 10 years the amount would be $227,395.02
