Illiquidity is the scariest word in Wallstreet. Go ask LTCM about the trials and tribulations of trying to invest billions of dollars in positions you can't move. It is the shorts that are providing the liquidity here, likely a market maker abusing their PFOF powers to continuously provide shares without allowing the buy orders hit the market.
There is no doubt about it, these "meme" stocks are causing someone somewhere a major headache. Retail showing up as a force is not a normal phenomenon that short sellers are ready to deal with. Especially a segment of retail that is in tune with the concept of naked shorting, cellar boxing, and the notion that holding and refusing to sell can cause problems. They are used to retail panic selling, as is the usual boomer response to bad news. We live in a new era of information with the usual MSM apparatus being characterized pathetically as "fake news". Numerous books have been written about the corruption of Wallstreet and everyone, across party lines, is seeing it first hand. Naked shorting is a DANGEROUS looting extraction mechanism and we sniffed it out and are applying pressure directly to their weakest spot. They can only spoof from here on out until they capitulate.

I think the shorts are shitting their pants worse than the longs. Worried about a banking collapse? Worried about the new CUSIP number? Worried about BBBY turning itself around and being forced to cover? The stock was never diluted because they never filed a form required to document an outstanding share change. It never happened no matter how desperate you are that it did.
