most brokers wont allow you to execute the trade of an option unless you have the money to back it. 85k is the value of your premium. if your option ends in the money then you could exercise it and buy the options (every 1 option is an obligation to buy 100 shares), trade it before the strike date for a higher premium, let them expire in the money and have your broker settle for a fee, or they expire out of the money and you lose your entire premium (85k)
