nah Civic is definitely on my list too, but one thing I tend to look at is partners, and Everest has some really good (read: incredibly evil and powerful) ones, like the Rockefeller foundation and ID2020 who i know are working with Bill Gates etc, whereas Civic seems like more of a coalition of Silicon valley VC/tech type orgs.

I know a similar situation is unfolding with the Mojaloop foundation and Libra/Diem vs other initiatives aiming at "inclusiveness" and "banking the unbanked." To me it reads like factions within the power structures vying for control of the future, the old (Rothschilds, Vatican, entities like the WEF and JPM and Rockefeller, Microsoft) vs the new (Blackrock, Facebook, Vanguard, etc). Obviously I'm kinda throwing names out there and this is basically just a nebulous sense I'm getting from looking at lots of different datapoints- not just cryptos but news stories and trends, corporate alliances.

I guess what I'm asking is: is Civic making good headway? Do you think it'll be part of the establishment or something more like Brave Browser/Linux/Monero where it's cool tech but not the status quo?

musk is backpedaling today. wonder what he knows, or what he was threatened with...maybe he realizes that he's tricked a bunch of people into investing their life's savings into an asset that's about to lose half its value real quick.
