Just to be clear, my reckoning shows a nickel has a curent melt value of about 6.2 cents. Pic related.
White area: A nickel has a mass of 5 grams, comprising 75% Cu, 25% Ni. Current spot prices for Cu and Ni are $0.008 and $0.024 per gram, respectively.

Green area: Figure out how many nickels you need to attain a target spot worth of what's entered in the yellow cell, and how much would that weigh (approximately - didn't split out Cu vs Ni for mass).

Blue area: How many nickels you'd have for a face value of what's in the yellow cell, and approximate mass.
