when I was a freshman in high school a group of my friends dared me to ask this random girl out
she sat by the flagpole during lunch which is where the yu gi oh card players sat and did yu gi oh things, it was pretty foreign to me even though I was a nerd during those days
this girl wasnt ugly by any means but definitely wasnt hot. something was definitely off with her however. i mean this is the yu gi oh section of lunch real estate. we use to steal their cards without them noticing and then sell them back to them a few days later in the mornings before school. they always hung out there.
i was autistic but could skateboard and was in the skateboard group of kids.
i was cool enough to talk to the goths, punks, and rednecks, but out of league aside from a couple ambassadors, from the preps and jocks
this was circa 2003
I walked up to that girl, while my friends in the background snickered. something was off. I asked her straight up without thought to be my girlfriend, a girl I have never even talked to.
I remember her look of confusion. a question she never anticipated to be proposed to her in her life I imagine.
she said yes
I nervously said cool, see ya around, and walked away with my friends. not even knowing her name
I never talked to her again
I still don't remember her name
now im older and think back to then every once in awhile
what did she think
how she felt
who the fuck even was i
