i bet amazon barely has a footprint in africa but i figure that might be because they don't think there's enough internet purchases there at the moment to make it worthwhile, better to focus on america and europe.
then later when africa starts to catch up to the rest of the world i dont see why amazon couldn't just go in and kill all competition. it's not like in china where the government and laws/practices shields alibaba
