Wait, I think I misunderstood something very fundemental about investing and predictions.

When referring to "ROI", this is the yearly value I'm getting from the stock I'm holding.
Does that mean that if I hold a (average) 10% ROI stock for 11 years, by the end of year 11 I'll have 110% of the money I initially invested and every year after y10 will be profit? i.e. I won't have to sell to benefit
Or does it mean that my stock has increased in value by 10% and that's my profit if I want it liquid.
