I kind of feel bad playing live for sole purpose of profit. There are usually a few regulars who know what they are doing, but the easiest people to make money off of are poor folk who aren't too bright and have a gambling problem or are drunk. It's depressing.

One of my good nights money wise was after just robbing this 70-year old lady of all her chips then her getting pissed at me. Felt bad.

I actually enjoy it more when I try to outplay one of the players who know their stuff, but then neither of us can get enough of an edge over the other to beat the rake.

Poker as recreational activity is fun, but as a source of income (at least in the low level leauges) it doesn't create anything, diminishes empathy, and rips off those more desperate than you. Kind of like landlords, really.
