Fucking kek, I loved those commercials. Back in the early 90's, my family didn't have a lot of money but once a year we would take a trip to cedar point. We didn't have enough money to dine out there nor did a lot of others so in the massive picnic table area, people could bring in coolers with their own food. A lot of families did this. You'd just leave your lunch their unattended, nobody would mess with it, everyone understood the unspoken rule. It was a super comfy time. Could never do that these days.
