>Either way I'm looking forward to getting the fuckton of scrap I ordered over the last week, thanks for making me not retarded and thinking that .999 was the only way to go

You'll have fun piling up that cheap sterling, really does feel like a treasure hoard. Many if not most coin shops will buy sterling items by weight no problem or trade for other stuff (dad traded a pile of spoons he had accumulated at my urging for a bunch of silver dollars and a lovely $20 St Gaudens recently) so even if you're not getting it refined it is still perfectly good silver that can be converted into whatever you want down the road.

I really appreciate you opening your mind to stuff beyond coins or .999, it is a valuable skill asset as we go through unprecedented times. Being more adaptable and smart about sourcing and trading silver (and gold) can only confer a competitive advantage. I'm glad that the perspective clicked fren.

It's not 405g sterling, but 405g total including the brushes and all the weighting resin filler inside the handles.

If you don't understand weighted or composite items like these please stick to solid things like spoons.

With the pitch resin weighting removed the pair yields over 57g of clean sterling, so now you know that each individual Fisher 401 shaker yields 28-29g of sterling and can shrewdly hoover up good deals that people lacking the experience won't recognize.

Build a list of dozens of things you've dissected and scrapped and it gets much easier to keep getting cheapies regularly.
