Haven’t taken a very close look (had to use my time to search for gold, that bedrock contact seemed promising, but I couldn’t get a lot out without getting wet, might have to try again in summer) but I would guess a root or piece of wood. It’s very young stuff, late tertiary, I think. I see if I can dig up the geological map for that area later. But I thinks this outcrop wasn’t mapped. Was really hard to get down there.
