Naturally. You can't just fuck off for the weekend lest the poor fish starves. Marine Harvest at least has a strick "if a worker can't work that day, then he can't work that day", and never have i felt pushed to say yes for extra work (again, compensated well, for example, a sunday night job on your time off will give you 400% overtime if you agree)
That said, while one would think you mainly deal with raising fishes, i had a lot of strange experiences. For instance this picture. We found an abandoned ship drifting, no registered call sign, no sign of any crew ever having lived on this ship yet it was full of cargo. No reports of any company missing a cargo deliverance either. But obviously we had to tow it to the docks. Shit like that will puzzle you unto the grave.
