deep yellow is a $400m market cap uranium mining operation that is being put together by john borshoff, the CEO of paladin who took it from $2m to $4b during the last uranium bull.
he has almost his entire leadership team with him today at DY; paladin's entire operation are all from elsewhere. understand i think they'll do fine, they are probably 3x undervalued, but they'll do just fine. DY is going to mog everybody over the next five years.
DY has just merged with vimy in a highly accretive deal that should reduce G&A over the entire operation of all mines, which also diversifies them across namibia and australia.
they are pre-development but pretty much ready to go, having received AUD$200m in funding to consummate the merger, to possibly acquire one more, and to move on to the development phase. the most important mines from each, tumas and mulga, are both all but fully scoped out. they have their DFSes and i've read the LOM for mulga. they are now larger by "pounds in the ground" than paladin, borshoff knows how to get it out of the ground, and he talks straight and knows bullshit when he sees it.
i estimate u3o8 at $70 easily and the AISC for these projects is at the absolute worst case going to be at 45 to 50, and with both of them operational DY will turn out 5mlbs/year, for a cool $100m/yr in earnings right out of the gate.

yesterday i was going to post about uranium again but i lost the will to do all the typing. i'll do a little now.
some or all of the short-term price action is basically behind us now, but so is half the year in which it was expected, given how much "slack" there was to take up in the supply, which sprott did indeed take up. my portfolio is up moderately since mid-july when i initiated positions in LEU (+19.5%) and DYLLF (+13.5%) on really no substantial news. the NEI conference has been the only significant event and so i think people in the know have been adding, not joe retail. that's a "hold" signal if i ever saw one.
a new catalyst will be needed to start climbing the next leg up. i don't know what that's going to be; i don't predict the future. regardless, if you're excited about it right now, cool your jets. and if you're skeptical, remain emotionally neutral for now because you'll likely get a good entry point later this year.

they are just about to close on a merger with vimy that creates significant value, borshoff has delivered on every single promise from the past 3 years, and the setup is absolutely choice here. for maximum safety, you would want to wait until the post-july announcement of the outcome of the merger before taking any action (so i'm giving you TWO MORE WEEKS to finish diligence by calling it to your attention now)
