My work is 80% blue 20% white collar, so I get to see both sides of the equation. The behavior of the white collar man is so damn strange. God forbid you disagree with him in the slightest way on how some work should be done, they take it like you fucked their mother holy shit. During our lunch break the based boomer white collar lab guy will chill with us and shoot the shit, but the others would be caught dead breaking bread with "unsophisticated apes" (obligatory fuck preddit). To work in an office environment, enabling sycophant behavior, walking on egg shells, for years and decades on end, must take a toll on the mind. With blue-collar work, at least you know you're immediately needed for society to maintain basic function, for better or worse. The fact that office wagies being made obsolete by AI is even a topic of discussion amongst themselves says everything I need to know about the true value that type of work brings. That being said, it is nice to have a good lawyer in your corner, so there's that.

The best technology works to help us, not hinder and burden us. We were all better off as mainly farmers and hunter-gatherers. Returning to the ways of our ancestors is the way forward, if not for others than at least ourselves.
