No asset is "safe". It's all about risks when investing. However, your control over your assets and identities is the indicator of security

Keeping the keys safe is the concern. It becomes complicated when you have to think about too many private keys. The best option is to have a single point of entry

The "control" comes into question considering how challenging it is for an average user to manage multiple keys and seed phrases; even worse when it is spread across multiple chains.

How about the concept of ORE? where users are given full control of their identities through a single ID and password? I think that's a fundamental component of security.

Most especially web2.0 identities bridges. Maintaining full control over identities will be very crucial in web3 development. That's for sure

Major emphasis on the "familiar".

It might take a while, and smart use of account protocols to make the best out of it.

Before you start talking about crypto payments, you have to consider the rate at which crypto is being adopted and accepted. A wider adoption is sure if users can easily interact with blockchain services (considering the complexity of the hundred blockchains that exists).

Perhaps it is. But I personally see more value in filtering down the number of coins one is invested in. Probably the best time to focus on projects with long term potentials and limit it to a few sure ones you've done a proper research on. At the moment, Railgun is a big one, as well as Monero and PriFi tokens. Well, that's where my focus is on at the moment, considering how much regulations is priming to become a big deal. The metaverse and web3 focused projects is another prominent place to pay attention to.
