yeah. but what about energetically viable?

there's a shit ton of oil reserve that's going to be left in the ground. simple reason: conventional oil had an EROI of roughly 50:1. oil sands have 5-8:1.

society is going to decide that there's better uses for the oil than digging up gold ore. or it's going to be available but a horrendous price to account for declining energy availability.

additionally in the last 10 years exploration spending exploded. yet we haven't found anything of note. face it. hubbert's curve applies to all non renewable natural resources.

2. utilization peaks
3. skyrocketing prices

people hate commodities. buy low, sell high.
